Not found elsewhere in the neighbourhood, nor actually in Essex itself, although some of the specimens from Upwick Green were found within half-a-mile of the border. It seems probable that the range of the species extends to the N.E. of Upwick as well as to the S.W. (Standon), and I daresay it may be found in Essex before long. I have never made a thorough search in the neighbourhood of Clavering, but there are several old chalk-pits there which would be likely places in which to find H. pomatia. H. aspersa, Milii.
