THE LEPIDOPTERA OF ESSEX.
Larva—Olive-green, two white spots on tenth and eleventh segments ; head
black. Food—Birds'-foot, bird's-foot trefoil, and other leguminous plants.
Imago—July, August ; hibernates as ovum.
Apparently very rare and local.

Saffron Walden (Cat. S.W.M. 50). Mr. Joseph Clarke writes:
"There are five specimens in the 'old collection,' all caught in this
neighbourhood."
