There is a specimen from Felixstowe in Mr. Hope's collection
that has been named Corallina squamata by that gentleman, but as
the attachment is wanting and the specimen otherwise far from
typical of C. squamata, I prefer to regard it as a variety of C.
officinalis, although possibly it may really be a form of C. squamata.

SPECIES LIKELY TO OCCUR ON ESSEX SHORES.
The following species may be expected to occur on the coast of
Essex. Those which, having been found on the shores of the neigh-
bouring counties of Suffolk, Norfolk, or Kent, are most likely to
be met with in Essex are distinguished by an asterisk (*).
