Newton read, "Notes on the Remains of Pleistocene Mammals found in the neighbourhood of Chelmsford" (see p. 16). Mr. W. M. Webb, F.L.S., read, "Notes on the Species of Mollusca found in the Pit at Chelmsford where the Mammoth Bones were obtained." He exhibited the specimens upon which the notes were founded (see p. 19). A discussion ensued, in which the Chairman and the authors of the paper took part. Mr. T, V. Holmes described the nature of the re-deposited Chalky Boulder Clay in the Pit at Chelmsford, and Mr. Webb gave some reasons for believing that some feet of soil had been removed from the upper surface of the section described by Mr. Holmes. Thanks having been passed to the authors, tea and coffee were served at the close of the meeting as usual. The 15th Annual General Meeting and 155TH Ordinary Meeting, Saturday, March 30th, 1895. The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Club was held in the small lecture room of the Young Men's Christian Association, West Ham Lane, Stratford, at 7 o'clock, Mr. F. Chancellor, President, in the chair. The minutes of the 14th Annual Meeting, held on March 31st, 1894, were read and confirmed. The Report of the Council for the year 1894 was read and adopted (see p. as). Mr. Crouch, one of the Auditors, read the Treasurer's Statement of Account, which was also received after slight discussion (see p. 27). At the meeting on March 9th last the following members of the Council retired under Rule IV., but, with one exception, offered themselves for re- election :— Mr. Miller Christy, Mr. J. T. Mann, Mr. J. C. Shenstone, and Rev. W. C. Howell. At the meeting on March 9th, the following Members were duly proposed and seconded for ELECTION into the COUNCIL :—Mr. Horace T. Brown, F.R.S., Mr. Miller Christy, F.L.S., Rev. W. C. Howell, M.A., and Mr. J. C Shenstone. As Officers for the year 1895, the following were nominated :—President, Mr. David Howard, J.P., F.C.S.; Treasurer, Mr. A. Lockyer ; Hon. Secretaries, Mr. W. Cole, F.E.S., and Mr. B. G.
