262 THE ENTOMOSTRACA OF EPPING FOREST. parallelled by the results from the whole Epping Forest district. To illustrate this I cannot do better than adopt the form of table prepared for the Wanstead Park species. In that table the earliest and latest months of capture of the com- moner or more striking species exhibiting periods of activity and extinction, as shown by the records for the three years 1890-92, were connected by a series of crosses, one for each month, whether an actual record had been made for each of the intermediate months or not. Pursuing the same method, and separating the results obtained at Wanstead Park in 1890-92 from those of the rest of Epping Forest during the period 1890-97, we get the following statement (Table II.) :— EPPING FOREST ENTOMOSTRACA. TABLE II. Showing the Seasonal Distribution of the Commoner Species exhibiting Periodicity, with a Comparison between the Records from Wanstead Park and those from the rest of the Epping Forest District. 4 The February record of this species from Wanstead Park has not been taken into consideration because of its very exceptional character.
