This fungus, Dr. Cooke states,2- was first met with in Great Britain in 1891 on Carnations imported from Switzerland, and it bids fair to be an exceedingly troublesome pest of the Carnation, especially when the latter is grown under glass. This species is not mentioned in Plowright's Monograph, as its introduction was subsequent to the publication of that excellent work. It is described by Dr. Cooke.5 U. and T. Maldon (H.
