This, the too well-known chrysanthemum rust, is now regarded by most authors as a species distinct from P. hieracii under which it was placed in my previous list.4 It is found wherever chrysanthemums are cultivated in Essex, but appears more abundant in the country than the town. The localities from which I have specimens of the uredo form are Chelmsford !; Maldon!; Rom- ford !; Sturmer !; Broomfield ! I have not yet seen the teleutospores. P. centaureae Mart. U. and T.
