A new edition (the 15th) of this informative little guide
has appeared. It contains over 120 illustrations, many of which
did not appear in the earlier editions. The text has been brought
up to date. We notice, for instance, that a short account, with
plan, is given of the Roman vaults which have been recently
discovered beneath the Norman Keep of the Castle. The Guide
is a model of what such handbooks should be but often are not.
