Vertical shading represents Bagshot Sand with pockets of
Drift.
Horizontal shading represents the sub-soil of stony loam,
with pot-boilers in and under it.
Cross-hatching represents the foundation-deposit of the
mounds, largely composed of baked sand, containing
pre-historic Iron Age pottery.
The light dotting represents the mixed soil and silting of
later date.

ORDINARY MEETING (602ND MEETING).
SATURDAY, 3IST OCTOBER, 1925.
This, the first meeting of the Winter Session, was held in the Physics
Lecture Theatre of the Municipal College, Romford Road, Stratford, the
President, Sir Arthur Smith Woodward, F.R.S., being in the chair. Fifty-
seven members and visitors were present.
