Wooldridge, M.Sc., F.G.S., who gave a lecture on "The Work of the Weald Research Committee, and some New Points of Wealden Geology," accompanied by lantern photo- graphs. At the conclusion of the lecture the President expressed a hope that such team work as had been done by amateur geologists in the Weald might yet be done in Essex. The thanks of the meeting were passed to Mr. Wooldridge by acclama- tion, and the meeting terminated. ORDINARY MEETING (607th MEETING). SATURDAY, 27TH FEBRUARY, 1926. This meeting was held as usual in the Physics Lecture Theatre of the Municipal College, Romford Road, Stratford, the President, Sir A. Smith Woodward, F.R.S., in the chair. Fifty-five members were present. The following gentlemen were elected members:— Mr. Horatio Clark, of 3, Ingatestone Road, Wanstead Park, E.12. Mr. William Setten Gilles, F.I.C, F.C.S., F.E.S., of The Cottage, Bocking, Braintree. Mr. Herbert C. Berdinner, B.Sc., of 60, Granville Park, Lewisham, S.E.13. Dr. A. K. Wells, D.Sc., F.G.S., of The Department of Geology, King's College, Strand, W.C.2, and 114 Queen's Road, Buckurst hill. In anticipation of the approaching Annual Meeting, nominations were invited to fill vacancies on the Council. Four existing members of the Council were due to retire in rotation, viz., Mrs. A. M. Thompson, Miss A. Hibbert-Ware, Sir R. Armstrong-Jones and Mr. C. Nicholson ; in addition there was a fifth vacancy owing to the death of Mr. Walter Fox. The following nominations were then made:— 1.
