THE ESSEX NATURALIST.
The Hon. Secretary reported that Sir Robert Armstrong-Jones,
Mr. Hugh Main and Mr. James Keeves would retire, in rotation, from the
Council at the Annual Meeting next month. There was also a vacancy
on the Council owing to the death of Mr. W. H. Daun. Nominations
were invited to fill these vacancies.
Sir Robert Armstrong-Jones was nominated by Mr, Scourfield, Mr.
Crouch seconding.
Mr. Hugh Main was nominated by Dr. Coles, Mr. Price seconding.
Mr. James Keeves was nominated by Mr. Salmon, Mrs. Thompson
seconding.
Dr. Reginald Curnock was nominated by Mr. Glegg, Mr. Harley
seconding.
The existing officers were nominated by the Council en bloc for re-election
to their respective offices.
Other nominations were invited, but none made.
Miss G. Lister exhibited a specimen, and also drawings, of the newly-
recorded Essex myxomycete, Perichaena pedata, and presented the specimen
to the Club's museum. She also showed another myxomycete, Arcyria
cinerea, found by Mr. Graddon growing on the clay lining of an old
Thrush's nest in the Knighton woods at Woodford.
Miss Lister further exhibited the nest of a Carder Bee found in the
disused mossy nest of a Robin in a wall niche at Leytonstone.
Mr. Main exhibited a living Cave Spider, Meta menardi, from Yorkshire,
-and spiderlings hatched from its cocoon.
The Curator showed 36 views of Romford and district, from the Pictorial
Survey collection.
Mr. Percy Thompson read an "Account of George Glover"
("Knobby"), maker of faked palaeolithic implements, and showed a
portrait of Glover and specimens of his work.
Dr. Rupert Coles gave a lecture on "Centuriation in Essex," which
he illustrated by lantern-maps and diagrams: a discussion ensued, in which
various members joined. On the President's motion, thanks were passed
to Dr. Coles for his lecture.
Mr. Salmon announced the provisional dates of forthcoming field
meetings and the places proposed to be visited.
The meeting ended at 4.45 o'clock.

ORDINARY (803rd) MEETING.
SATURDAY, 25TH MARCH, 1939.
These meetings were held at 3 o'clock on the above date in the Physics
Lecture Theatre of the West Ham Municipal College, with the President,
Dr. J. Ramsbottom, O.B.E., P.L.S., etc., in the chair. Thirty-six members
attended.
The Ordinary Meeting was held first.
Miss Lister exhibited a specimen of Comatricha tenerrima, recently
found by Mr. Graddon growing on a decayed plant of Rosebay Willowherb
in Lords Bushes, Epping Forest, this being the first record of the species
