and even then the proceeds would not fully pay the accrued
debts. The worries of this time proved too much for him,
and he had a nervous breakdown. Kindly friends stepped
in and provided sufficient funds to enable him to keep his
collections together and to spend his remaining days in his
own home. He died five years later, two days before his
67th birthday.
With Henry Doubleday we have come to about three-
quarters of a century from the present day, and to try to
bring our list more up to date would probably involve dealing
with living persons.
