Summary
No pellets could be found from just before the last days of
incubation onwards. During this period the cock excreted ex-
tremely bulky and copious droppings. Examination showed that
they contained large quantities of whole red ants and small parts
of chitin. Neither of these had been found in previous drop-
pings.
As the last pellet was found on the 24th of June and the
first snail site on the 26th of June the writer feels that a change
in feeding habits may have taken place just before the eggs
hatched.
