(7) TERRESTRIAL INVERTEBRATES FROM SKIPPERS ISLAND By Peter Hammond This note contains a list of arthopods incidentally collected while visiting Skippers Island for the purpose of studying the beetle fauna, during 1959, 1960 and 1961. ISOPODA. Platyarthrus hoffmannsegii was found in March 1960 and April 1961, in the nests of Lasius flavus F. on Holme Island. DIPLOPODA. Several specimens of Tachypodoiulus niger (Leach) from Holme Island. INSECTA. Water-boatmen taken from the small pond on the dry sub-islet to the north of Holme Island in March 1960, included Notonecta viridis Delc. 2 ex., Corixa lateralis Leach 1 ex., Corixa punctata Ill. 5 ex., and Corixa stagnalis Leach commonly. Nests of Lasius flavus F. are abundant amongst the bushes on Holme Island. A nest of Myrmica ruginodis Nyl. was found on Heron Island in September 1959. A single Lasius niger L. was taken by sweeping on Holme Island in September 1959. A single Colias croceus (Geoff. in Foure.) (Clouded Yellow) was taken flying over the shore on Holme Island in September 1959. A single Hydraecia micacea (Esper) (Rosy Rustic) was taken on Holme Island in September 1959. Forficula auricularia L. (Common Earwig) is abundant on Holme Island.
