Red-line Quaker (Agrochola lota). From October 10 onwards;
six from Halstead and Weeley.
Beaded Chestnut (Agrochola lychnidis). From September 16 to
October; abundant in both months; from Colchester, Hal-
stead and Weeley.
Brown-spot Pinion (Anchoscelis litura). From September 28 to
October; one each from Colchester and Halstead.
Orange Sallow (Tiliacea citrago). One from Colchester on October
14.
Pink-barred Sallow (Citrea lutea). From September 26 to
October; four from Halstead and Weeley.
The Sallow (Cirrhia icteritia). From September 16 onwards; five
from Little Clacton and Weeley.
Dusky Lemon Sallow (Cirrhia gilvago). One from Colchester on
October 14.
Dark Chestnut (Conista ligula). From October 14 onwards; seven
from Weeley.
Marbled Beauty (Cryphia perla). From July 1 to August; com-
mon from Colchester, a few from Brightlingsea.
Grey Dagger (Apatele psi). From June 9 to July; twelve from
Colchester and Weeley.
Copper Underwing (Amphipyra pyramidea). From August 13 to
September; four from Colchester.
Mouse Moth (Amphipyra tragopoginis). From August 2 to
September: common at Colchester, Weeley and West
Mersea.
Old Lady (Mormo maura). From July 16 to September; five
from Ardleigh, Colchester, East Mersea, Walton and
Weeley.
Bird's Wing (Dypterygia scabriuscula). From June 15 to July;
fifteen from Colchester and Little Clacton.
Light Arches (Apamea lithoxylaea). From July 1 to August;
common at Colchester, Little Clacton and Weeley.
Dark Arches (Apamea monoglypha). Abundant from June 15 to
August, one individual in October: Colchester, Little Clac-
ton, Weeley and Witham.
Rustic Shoulder-Knot (Apamea sordens). From June 8 to July;
ten from Colchester; reported from Witham in 1962.
Dusky Brocade (Apamea remissa). From July 3 to August:
three from Weeley; reported from Witham, 1962.
Common Rustic (Apamea secalis). From July 17 to September;
abundant at Colchester, Weeley and West Mersea; many
colour forms found.
Marbled Minor (Procas strigilis). From June 11 to July; common
from Colchester and Weeley.
