Shoulder Stripe (Earophila badiata). From March 18 to April;
three from Halstead.
Streamer (Anticlea derivata). From April 27 to May; two from
Halstead.
Beautiful Carpet (Mesoleuca albicilliata). One from Weeley on
July 23.
Small Rivulet (Perizoma affinitata). From July 21 to August;
two from Weeley.
Sandy Carpet (Perizoma flavofasciata). One from Weeley on
June 21.
Yellow Shell (Euphyia cuculata). From June 20 to August; very
common at Bures Hamlet, Colchester, Little Clacton and
Weeley.
Water Carpet (Lampropteryx suffumata). From April 23 to May;
three from Halstead and Weeley.
Broken-barred Carpet (Electrophaes corylata). From May 26 on-
wards; two from Weeley.
Dark Spinach (Pelurga comitata). From August 13 onwards;
three from Colchester and Weeley.
Small Phoenix (Ecliptoptera silaceata). One from Colchester in
July.
Spinach (Lygris mellinata). From June 29 to July; very com-
mon at Colchester, Little Clacton and Weeley.
Barred Yellow (Cidaria fulvata). From June 27 to July; eighteen
from Little Clacton and Weeley.
Blue-bordered Carpet (Plemyria rubiginata). From July 16 on-
wards; one each from Colchester and Weeley.
Common Marbled Carpet (Dysstroma truncata). From June 3 to
October; common at Colchester and Weeley. This is a
variable species and the types ab. rufescens (Yellow
Marbled Carpet) and ab. perfuscata, (Brown Marbled Car-
pet) were both common.
July Highflyer (Hydriomena furcata). From July 12 to August;
eight from Colchester and Weeley.
Scarce Tissue (Rheumaptera cervinalis). From May 9 onwards;
four from Weeley.
The Streak (Chesias legetella). One from Weeley on October 16.
Common Carpet (Epirrhoe alternata). From May 22 to Septem-
ber; eleven from Weeley.
The Fern (Horisme tersata). Two from Colchester in July.
Toadflax or Foxglove Pug (Eupithecia linariata or E. pulchellata).
We were unable to be certain of the species; seven from
Colchester in July and August.
Lime-speck Pug (Eupithecia centaureata). From May 31 to
September; sixteen from Colchester and Weeley.
Common Pug (Eupithecia vulgata). From May 31 to July; very
common at Ardleigh, Colchester, Little Clacton and Weeley.
