populace, blissfully ignorant of its alleged absence in their district.
The area covered by the Colchester Royal Grammar School
Field Club embraces that part of Essex North and East of grid-
reference TL/800100—that is, sixteen of the county's 57
ten-kilometre squares. This area includes 102 boroughs, urban
districts and rural parishes, and these districts are normally used
for the recording purposes of the Club.
The Stag Beetle was recorded from 21 of these districts as
