only noticed this species in Menagerie Plantation, May.

taken at "Brentwood" by P. Freeman (per L. Parmenter).
L. (D.) modesta (Mg.) In damp woods by streams, June, July,
October. On 5th October, 1963, I noted this as "the com-
monest Tipulid".

Helius longirostris (Mg.) A distinctive genus of crane-flies with a
very long proboscis. In marsh at head of Old Hall Pond,
June.
H. flavus (Walker) At reedy margins of Old Hall Pond, June,

H. pallirostris Edw. Margin of Childerditch Pond, June.
Pedicia (Tricyphona) immaculata (Mg.) In swampy parts of
