Hydrallmania falcata (Linne)
Common and widely distributed, but only on clean shell and
stone bottoms as at Thirslet Spit and Thirslet Creek.
Sertularia cupressina (Linne)
Mostly from off-shore areas on clean shelly bottoms. Dredged
in Swire Hole (19.7.1962).
Plumulariidae
Kirchenpaueria pinnata (Linne)
Occasional on shelly bottoms. At Thirslet Spit and in Thirslet
Creek in 1960. Also recorded from stations C.5, N.2, S.6, S.7 and
S.13.
Plumularia setacea (Ellis & Solander)
A few records from Bradwell Creek and some bottom sampling
stations, TL.4, N.2, HB.3, S.13, S.16 and S.21 (1960).
Nemertesia antennina (Linne)
Rare; dead colonies sometimes washed up on the shore at
the seaward end of the Blackwater. May be common off-shore.

Recorded as var. rosea (Forbes) in plankton hauls in June and
July 1960. Not common.

Recorded by the Essex Field Club in the Blackwater, 1888

Occurs from April until October, but is most common from
May until August in all years. Generally common.

Occasionally taken in dredge hauls in off-shore water, particu-
larly around the Colne Bar and Eagle (1962).
