P. belgica may also be present and confused with P. koreni. Ampharetidae Ampharete grubei Malmgren Reasonably common in mud and sand on the shore. Recorded from the Bradwell shore in all years 1958-1962. Amphicteis gunneri (Sars) One record from Bradwell Creek. Melinna palmata Grube From Bradwell Creek and in dredge samples from bottom of sandy mud around Bachelor's Spit (19.7.1962). Terebellidae Amphitrite gracilis (Grube) Recorded from a bottom of shell and mud at station N.6 (2.5.1962). Amphitrite johnstoni Malmgren From mud in Bradwell Creek and also from the Bradwell shore in 1958 and 1960. Lanice conchilega (Pallas) Along the middle and lower shore at Bradwell being very common along low water mark in 1965. Also taken on Mersea Flat and in dredge samples from around Bachelor's Spit (19.7.1962). Thelepus cincinnatus (Fabricius) Dredged from mud and sand around Bachelor's Spit (19.7.1962). Streblosoma bairdi (Malmgren) Also occurring at Bachelor's Spit with the last mentioned species. Terebellides stroemii Sars Of rare occurrence in the mud of the River Colne, below Brightlingsea Creek in 1903 (Sorby, 1903). Sabellidae Sabella pavonina Savigny Of general occurrence on some oyster beds in creeks. A dense growth exists along low water mark in Bradwell Creek on a bottom of mud and shell. Also recorded from among fouling on ships anchored in the Blackwater (1959-1960) and in the water intake system of Bradwell Power Station (1964 and 1965).
