Koch) Five females and one male on a wood mouse at Woodford Green on May 8, 1960, and two females on a wood mouse from Skipper's Island, Thorpe-le-Soken, on April 15, 1960. Proctolaelaps (P.) hypudaei (Oudemans) About twenty females on a wood mouse at Woodford Green on August 3, 1960. Proctolaelaps (P.) pomorum (Oudemans) A female on the bee Bombus terrestris (L.) at Goldings Hill, Loughton, on May 8, 1960. Pneumolaelaps bombicolens Canestrini Several females from the above bee; one female from Bombus terrestris (L.) at Skipper's Island, Thorpe-le-Soken, on April 15-18, 1960. Hypoaspis sp. Five females of this genus from Bombus terrestris (L.) at Grays on August 13, 1960. Coleolaelaps sp. A female of this genus from a Stag beetle, Lucanus cervus (L.), taken in Essex by R. J. Knowles on June 23, 1960. Spinturnicidae Oudemans 1901 Spinturnix myoti (Kolenati) Males and females have been found on both Daubenton's bat, Myotis daubentoni (Kuhl), and Natterer's bat, Myotis nattereri (Kuhl), in the deneholes at Grays on January 6-7, 1962. Mites of this family are thought to be exclusively parasites of bats. Rhodacaridae Oudemans 1902 Euryparasitus emarginatus (C. L. Koch) One deutonymph on a wood mouse at Skipper's Island, Thorpe-le-Soken, on March 20, 1960. Uropodidae Berlese 1917 Over a dozen sessile deutonymphs of this family were found on the beetle Hister unicolor L. at Woodford Green in 1958. Canestriniidae Berlese 1884 Canestrinia doricola Berlese Five females and one male from the beetle Dorcus paralleli- pedus (L.) in an elm stump at Billericay on May 17, 1959, by R. J. Knowles.
