This area will be visited again in 1968 to compare records. Hylands Park, Chelmsford, July 22. This was attended by 9 members. Hyland Park is now owned by the Borough of Chelmsford and is an interesting area of open parkland and fine woods. An area well worth preserving both for its plants and birds. The day was fine, but there was a cool breeze. Few birds were heard singing so members had to rely on being able to see and identify birds by sight rather than song. Birds seen were: — Great Tit, Blue Tit, Coal Tit, Wren, Wood Pigeon, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Blackbird, Dunnock, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Robin, Heron, Swallow, House Martin, Rook, House Sparrow, Tree Sparrow, Pied Wagtail, Black-headed Gull.
