A SURVEY OF ADDERS IN AN AREA OF EPPING FOREST 183
The boundary to the north-west of the whole area is a well
developed woodland of oak and beech, with hornbeam at the lower
contours. Birch, brambles and saplings of the above comprise the
shrub layer, and the region is not inhabited by adders.
