This makes a total of only 13 10 km. grid-squares and only 18 standard
trees, six pollards and one regrowth, in all 25 individuals. In a county
covering 979,585 acres, this works out at one Black Poplar for every 39,000
acres—not a high density for a tree! If any members can send me additional
records from Essex, other than trees planted in urban areas, I would be
most grateful.
