Journal of Proceedings. lxxvii A cordial vote of thanks to the President for his work during the past session, and for his interesting address, was moved by Mr. Meldola, seconded by Mr. Andrew Johnston. At the suggestion of Mr. F. C. Gould the vote was extended to all the officers of the Club, and it was carried unanimously. The President returned thanks on behalf of himself and colleagues, and in doing so he nominated as Vice-Presidents, Mr. E. N. Buxton, J.P., Mr. E. A. Fitch, F.L.S., Mr. R. Meldola, F.R.A.S., and the Eight Hon. Lord Rayleigh, F.R.S. A vote of thanks to the Auditors, Dr. Cory and Mr. R. Letchford, was carried at the suggestion of Mr. G. J. Godwin, seconded by Mr. Cole. The President announced that the Council had elected the following gentlemen as Honorary Members of the Club :—Mr. J. Britten, F.L.S., Mr. F. W. Rudler, F.G.S., and Prof. Flower, F.R.S. At Mr. Johnston's suggestion, it was resolved to send a letter to the Epping Forest Committee asking whether it was intended that Epping Forest should be represented at the forthcoming Forestry Exhibition at Edinburgh, and offering any assistance in the power of the Club to afford. The usual conversazione concluded the meeting. Saturday, February 23rd, 1884. Ordinary Meeting. The forty-sixth Ordinary Meeting of the Club was held at the head- quarters at seven o'clock, the President in the chair. Donations to the library of books, pamphlets, and periodicals were announced from Messrs. J. Adams, H. J. Barnes, R. L. Barnes, G. S. Boulger, James Britten, Miss Cole, Messrs. B. G. Cole, W. Cole, P. F. Copland, F. W. Cory, H. G. Fordham, H. and J. Groves, A. Johnston, R. Meldola, Miss Ormerod, Dr. Woodward, and Mr. W. White. Mr. G. P. Hope presented a further set of Sea-weeds from Harwich, for the Museum. Mr. Meldola presented a set of large photographs of the Whale referred to in Prof. Flower's paper read at the last Ordinary Meeting. Cordial votes of thanks were passed to the several donors. Messrs. W. Law Bros and Percy Warner, M.R.C.S., were elected members. Letters returning thanks for election as Honorary Members of the Club were read from Mr. J. Britten, Prof. Flower (who added that Part 7 of the ' Transactions' afforded ample proof of the excellent work done by the Club—work which he was sure must exercise a most beneficial effect upon all who were able to take part in it), and Mr. F. W. Rudler. Mr. W. D. Howard also sent a letter of thanks from the family of the late J. Eliot Howard, F.R.S., for the vote of condolence passed by the Club, and at the same time presented a fine permanent photograph of Mr. J. E. Howard.
