September 19th (Sun.) Geology of the Wrotham Area (Kent) Meet at 11:15 a.m. at the Bat and Ball (Sevenoaks) Railway Station, This station is not to be confused with the main Sevenoaks Station. Bring lunch and inform the leader if attending, Leader: Mr. R, Coates, 63 Cromer Road, London Road, Romford, Essex. For those coming by train, Holborn Viaduct (Blackfriars) should be used - booking to Bat and Ball, The geology group has had a meeting in this area before, but it is well worth repeating, and probably some new ground will be covered this time, anyway. The geology of this part of Kent should not be thought of as separate from that of Essex, but as complementary to it. Wrotham stands on the southern edge of the London Basin, as the chalk hills of the north of our county and in Cambs. and Suffolk form the northern edge, And, of course, there is the Weald to explore from here, which gives an added interest, (September 20th. Not a meeting, but a reminder to leaders of next year's meetings that this is the last day for details to be sent to the Meetings Secretary, Ron Coates). September 24-26th (Fri. to Sun.) Mammal Group Weekend. Would all members interested in participating in a Weekend meeting in Thetford Chase, please write to Mr. B. Eastcott, 13 Lower Park Crescent, Bishop's Stortford, Herts,, as soon as possible, indicating their interest. There would be a possibility of seeing Red and Roe Deer, Red Squirrels, and a visit to the Norfolk Wildlife Park, Tented accommodation is envisaged, but those who prefer- more comfort may make their own arrangements, This meeting will be arranged if the demand warrants it. This sounds like a good chance for a most interesting time, and I hope there will be a good response to the suggestion. September 26th (Sun.) Epping Forest.
