Meet at 11:00 a.m. on the A505 by Exit 11 on the M1
motorway. Car transport is essential for this meeting.

November 7th (Sun.) Mammal Group Meeting, This meeting is
described as "A dawn outing to look for wild deer in Essex",
This could be quite exciting, if you don't mind being up
before everyone else, and should result in members seeing
some of these elusive creatures we so often hear of but
hardly ever see in their truly wild state. Contact the

November 20th (Sat.) General Meeting No. 1178, A talk
on 'Canals and Waterways' by Mr, John H. Boyes. At the
North East London Polytechnic, West Ham Precinct, Romford
Road, Stratford, at 3:00 p.m. (This is the usual place,
in spite of its new high-sounding name).
This talk will come as a continuation of the theme of
communications which was started by the talk we had last
year on the development of a bus service in Essex. It will
give an insight into a little pursued subject and promises
to be very interesting.
December 11th (Sat.) General Meeting No, 1179. A talk on
Bats will be given by Dr, P. Morris. This will be held at
the Suntrap Field Centre, As it is possible that this
meeting might have to be cancelled or given on a different
date, you are asked to inform Mr. B. Eastcott, 13 Lower
Park Crescent, Bishop's Stortford, Herts., if you are
