Plants noted in the Writtle area: Flammulina velutipes, a yellow capped toadstall with a dark brown velvety stripe, was tufted on a tree stump. The following three plants were in seed and prominent in the hedges: Clematis vitalba (Travellers joy) Euonymus europaeus (Spindle Tree) and Humulus lupulus (Hop).
