13. rare than at first supposed. The Trust intends through its records, to be able to bring together owners, in order to encourage breeding, and maintain a gene bank. It carries a Technical Consultant. It hopes to educate by setting up farm parks, the publication of scientific papers and leaflets of general interest, and assisting with exhibition work. Changes in agricultural practice may well bring about the necessity for an animal tommorrow carrying the qualities bred yesterday, with todays type now relegated to stock of less use. The Trust was able, in August 1973 to announce that because of much public interest, it had been possible to commence exchanges of information and appoint the technical officer. It had over 300 members many being farmers, but including also biologists, vet- erinarians and teachers. I became a member in June 1973 as I feel a very worth while aim is held. A Journal 'The Ark' is now published monthly which has articles of interest, letters and carries a few advertisements both of and for stock. The Cotswold Farm Park run by Mr Henson in Partner- ship with John Nene is off the B4077 from Stow to Tewkesbury, and has selected animals on exhibition from among the stock farmed there. It has a nursery where orphaned animals are hand reared, and is basically a farm of which about 25 acres has been kept for a farm park, with a limited amount of tree planting, areas left for picnicking and good alround views. If there is sufficient interest, perhaps an outing could be arranged for later in the year. Ken Hill. I am sure a visit here would be most interesting. If you are interest then please write to Ken Hill at 93 Elmhurst Drive, Hornchurch, Essex RM11 1NZ. It could be done with cars or perhaps a coach similar to the visit to Slimbridge which was most successful. Kon Allen.
