18. of Rabbit activity. Beeleigh Abbey was much admired and photographed and we caught a glimpse of some of the Peacocks they keep there. We were now on the last stretch towards home, the most tiring part, up a gradual hill back into Maldon. Along the sides of the footpath were a lot of Shetland ponies and Donkeys, who took up a little of our time admiring them and wondering why they were there. Back in Maldon we came upon the "Blue Boar" public house, the Moot Hall and "The Swan" public house, where the huntsmen were having their after hunt drinks. Even a horse went in for a pint! So ended the Boxing Day riverside ramble. I enjoyed leading it and I hope everybody enjoyed it too. PEGGIE DARK ---oOo---
