2k. all were able to watch this Kestrel swoop down on to some kind of prey. Some members remarked on the fact that some of the Oak trees' higher branches appeared to have died back and various specu- lations were made as to the reason for such die back. It was good also to notice that parts of the park had been left for the insects - where no mowing had taken place. A large number of butterflies were seen in such unmown areas. At the end of a very enjoyable and rewarding meeting, the total number of species were 34 and this included four of the five members of the Pigeons and Doves, i.e. Wood Pigeon, Turtle Dove, Collared Dove, Stock Dove.
