EDITORIAL 1 I hope you will find this centenary issue of the Bulletin to your liking. The Council of the Club decided that the last issue of the Essex Naturalist on the history of the Field Club would replace the usual spring edition of the Bulletin and this has certainly given me more time to collect material to publish. Many of you who attend meetings will know me already, and I thank all of you who haue responded to my persistent requests for articles and illustrations. I shall be worrying many more of you in the future. I decided to make a permanent record of our 100th ANN- IVERSARY MEETING on Saturday, 23rd February, 1980. This was our best attended general meeting in recent years, and I felt that everybody present would like to digest the four talks given at their leisure. It will also keep those of you who were unable to attend in close touch with a major event in the history of the Club. Please make yourself known in these pages and let me haue plenty of material for the next edition. TONY BONIFACE .
