44 The small interpretive centre provided an interesting conclusion to the visit. The many local industries associated with the woods are shown in an exhibition and include fencing, charcoal-burning, wood working of tool handles and tanning as well as archaeological and historical records. After lunch a fair number of those present went to the Cater Museum in Billericay High Street. This small museum of local records and curios is based in an old residence on three floors. The collection was inspected with interest for an hour or so. The stuffed specimen of a two-headed lamb ostensibly born locally and which lived to an age of six weeks drew a good deal of comment and ended an interesting day. ANDREW SNELLING
