It would be helpful in the case of less common species, if contributors would state any degree of confidentiality they require to be imposed on the relevant records. FEBRUARY 1981 February is a month during which one can usually hear the songs of our resident birds for the first time. 15th February 1981 CHAFFINCHES had started to sing in various locations which included Ingatestone. M.T.P. 27th February 1981 At the meeting held at Abberton Reservoir one group saw 5 SMEWS. MARCH 1981 March usually produces records of the first Spring Migrants, and 198l was no exception to this. 22nd March WHEATEAR - This bird was seen during the Field Club Meeting at Goldhanger. The sea wall at Walton-on-Naze and Tollesbury are very often localities for this Spring
