People who have in the past sent butterfly records from the
London area to the late Baron deWorms are invited to
resubmit the records to me, since many of the late Barons
notes have gone missing since his death.
It would be helpful in the case of less common species, if
contributors would state any degree of confidentiality
they require to be imposed on the relevant records.

SOME ORNITHOLOGICAL RECORDS 1981
The following records have been received from various
members of the Club to whom I am most grateful. Other
records are taken from reports of the various meetings
held during 1981.
FEBRUARY 1981
February is a month during which one can usually hear the
songs of our resident birds for the first time.
15th February 1981 CHAFFINCHES had started to sing in
various locations which included Ingatestone. M.T.P.
27th February 1981 At the meeting held at Abberton
Reservoir one group saw 5 SMEWS.
MARCH 1981
March usually produces records of the first Spring Migrants,
and 198l was no exception to this.
22nd March WHEATEAR - This bird was seen during the Field
Club Meeting at Goldhanger. The sea wall at Walton-on-Naze
and Tollesbury are very often localities for this Spring
