Close Encounters of the Mammalian Kind
If you have encountered any of our wild mammals
in Essex can you let me know so that I can add
your observations to the Essex Field Club mammal
records? You may, in addition, be assisting in
various national surveys as many records are
forwarded to organisations who are compiling
information for countrywide surveys, including,
for example, the national small mammal survey,
water vole survey and badger survey.
Ideally, records should include species, date of
observation, location and, where possible a 6
figure grid reference and any habitat or relevant
ecological data.
