Other plants seen included:- Meadow Saxifrage Saxifraga granulata, Cowslip Primula veris, Great Water Dock Rumex hydrolapathum and two or more species of Elm. There were a number of House Martins and a few Swallows feeding low over the brook. In the afternoon we went round Blakes Wood. There was a magnificent show of Bluebells Hyacinthoides non scripta. Other plants seen included:- Climbing Corydalis Corydalis claviculata, Early Purple Orchid Orchis mascula, Town Hall Clock Adoxa moschatellina, Wood Spurge Euphorbia amygdaloides, Wild Service Tree Sorbus torminalis, Turkey Oak Quercus cerris, Wood Club rush Scirpus sylvaticus, Yellow Archangel Lamiastrum galeobdolon, Lily of the Valley Convallaria majalis. Greater Woodrush Luzula sylvatica. A number of fungi, including myxomycetes had started fruiting as a result of all the recent rain. These included Pluteus cervinus, Dryads Saddle Polyporus squamosus, Jews Ear Auricularia- auricula judae, which was growing in greater numbers on fallen Elms than any of us could remember seeing anywhere else. The two myxomycetes seen were:- Reticularia (Enteridium) lycoperdon and Lycogala epydendrum.
