WHAT GROWS DOWN YOUR STREET?
Plant hunting in winter is still possible
if you turn your attention to lichens, mosse
and liverworts. Neither is it necessary
to go out into the countryside in order to
find them; just try searching the walls and
pavements around your home. Identification
may be a problem, but this can be overcome
by collecting your specimens and placing
them separately in paper envelopes with their
location, e.g. top of wall, or between
paving stones, the name of the street and
a grid reference. They could then be sent
to our Recorders:-
