41 (Geranium lucidum) was -Found. Also Pignut (Conopodium majus) and Burnet Saxifrage (Pimpinella saxifraga). Lady's Bedstraw (Galium verum) was present, as was Mouse Ear Hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella). Hoary Plantain (Plantago media) suggested calcareous soil. We walked a short distance along the road to Lucking Street and found Dwarf Hallow (Malva neglecta). A footpath by a stream led towards the wood at Link Hills and then we walked parallel to the wood. A hedgerow yielded Guelder Rose (Viburnum opulus) in flower. We located a lake bordered with Lesser Pond Sedge (Carex acutiformis) with scattered Ragged Robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi). Access to the wood across a fence and a stream proved difficult and the woodland floor was wet and overgrown. We completed the circular tour past another small wood and across arable fields in the rain. Although nothing very unusual was found a wide range of flowering plants were discovered and recorded by 11 members of the Field Club. TONY BONIFACE
