1 SUMMER 1989 NUMBER 39 EDITORIAL As the new Editor of the Bulletin, I would like to thank Tony Boniface for the quiet and efficient way he has produced the consistently high standard of publication over the years. As I am discovering, articles do no exactly pour in. I must take this opportunity to remind all the Groups and Members to contribute Meetings Reports and general articles. I would also like to hear from individual members who nave any items of natural history or a favourite location in the county. It is my very sad duty to inform members of the death of Michael Parker on 15th February. His great charm and knowledge made him a privilege to know. His meetings were always friendly and interesting. He was one of a very few people who could easily impart information to expert and novice alike. There will never be anyone like him and he is sadly missed. ADRIAN VERNON
