The Mammal Group held an evening of slides and four outdoor meetings to search for mammal tracks and signs and to watch Dais, foxes and red squirrels, although the latter proved elusive. Bird Group members travelled all over the county to visit various habitats, including coastal and woodland areas, and some got up very early for the dawn chorus in June. As well as arranging walks throughout Essex, the Botany Group met to study algae and myxomycetes.
