Luffia ferchaultella (Steph.) Res., (1902)-1980. Tree-trunks, rocks. A parthenogenetic species
forming compact but populous colonies. Wdspd and c, except in the north-west. 78 * Bowers

L. lapidella (Goeze) Probably misidentified, 1902. Possibly a bisexual form of the preceeding
species. Essex (Meyrick, 1928).
VC 18. 88 Southend, teste Dr T. A. Chapman (Whittle, 1902b). Whittle himself seems to have
questioned this determination later, for when Burrows figured his Southend cases as L.
lapidella, Whittle asked for them to be redesignated L. ferchaultella (Burrows, 1917a, 1917b).
The only confirmed British records of L. lapidella are from the Channel Islands.
