VC 18. 88 *Southchurch, "I have the melancholy satisfaction of dedicating this pretty insect to
the memory of the late Mr Edward Blunt, FLS, who took it in July at Southchurch, Essex.... His
friend Mr Christopher Parsons informs me that he has also found it in gardens and outhouses at
the same place" (Curtis, 1828; folio 221; see also Stainton, 1854a); Southend, reared 1874
(Machin, 1875). It seems to have disappeared before the end of the last century and there has
been no subsequent record.
