VC 18.49/40 "Mr Douglas collected larvae in some plenty near Epping" (Stainton, 1865). This
was one of the earliest British records and some of Douglas' specimens, reared in 1853, are in
coll. Stainton (BMNH). Following the decline of the foodplant, the moth may be extinct in the
vice-county. VC 19.22 Little Oakley, larvae plentiful and moth reared 1979 (JRL, AME).
