Stenodes alternana (Steph.) NRR., (1859). Centaurea scabiosa. 88 Southend (Wilkinson, 1859);
Essex (Barrett, 1905; Meyrick, 1928). All probably refer to a single prior record which I have
not been able to trace. This record may be authentic, but the species is now almost certainly
extinct in the county.
