VC 18.49 *Loughton, where the first British specimens were taken on 26 June 1892 (Thurnall,
1893). Thurnall and his friends continued to capture or rear the moth until 1897, when the
locality was drained for building development. Recently I have taken single specimens at
another site in the Forest in 1977 and 1979 (AME).
D. montanana (Dup.) Status uncertain, (1903)-1938. Achillea, tanacetum. A northern species
unlikely to occur in Essex.
