bufferlands or the forest. A site in the main forest was compared to the
bufferland fields. The samples were collected between 11.00 and 15.00 hours on
Monday, May 16th. The main forest site was Deershelter Plain; the bufferland
sites were Conybury Wood, Brambly Shaw, Oxleys Wood, Rookery Wood and
Copped Hall. The results of the nitrogen analysis (carried out by Natural
Resource Management Ltd., Berkshire) are listed in Table 1.
