Forest laws, was found to be within
the Forest of Havering, otherwise
called the Forest of Essex ....
The Crown and Sceptre are free from
this sad fate of that County ; were
that judgment right or wrong, upon
the consciences of the jury and the
judges it must rest, to be determined
at the last dreadful day. God of His
infinite mercy preserve the true re-
ligion amongst us and without the
intermixtures of heresy, superstition,
idolatry, whatsoever become of our
estates and fortunes ! "*
No attempts appear to have
been made to enforce the enlarge-
ment of the " legal " forest by the
