Among the Ferns found on the Forest the most abund- ant are Pteris aquilina, the common brake-fern, which grows wherever it is dry ; Seolopendrium vulgare, the Harts- tongue ; Lastrea filix-mas, the Male fern ; Polypodium vul- gare, the Polypody which clothes the crowns of pollards.
