Roman aqueduct Sparrowhawk sweeping Blue and gold in evening light. Fast and low along the ditch. Rock sparrows roosting. A storm of feathers. The scent of bluebells Winter fills the air. Buds bursting on the oak trees. Murmuring above the mud A kiss in springtime. The Brent geese circle. Safe from the buzzards Endless corridor The rabbits leave their burrows. Stretching in both directions. The eagle owl wakes.
