Habitat and Ecology The species has been found in deciduous and mixed woodland along the ride edges and in leaf litter, on dunes, landslips and in various grassland and marsh habitats including acid grassland, grazing marsh grassland, meadows and roadside verges. It seems to be particularly associated with damper conditions. Adults have been recorded from May to September with a very pronounced peak in numbers during June and July. Habitat and Ecology Typically found in dry habitats associated with habitation and sometimes coining into houses. It also occurs in 'brown field' sites and more natural habitats where these arc near to housing and has been recorded in Essex in acid grassland, heathland and wet brackish grassland. Both Sankey (1988) and Hillyard & Sankey (1989) record a preference for warm, sheltered man-made habitats such as walls, fences and under window ledges.
